Clyde Mitchell

Clyde Mitchell practices corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and finance, as well as business litigation. Mr. Mitchell also serves as an adviser to various ventures and has been asked to be on various boards of directors. Previously, Mr. Mitchell practiced at Shearman & Sterling and worked on reorganizations at First Boston as an investment banker.
Mr. Mitchell earned a Scientiae Baccalaureus in physics from MIT in 1976 and aJuris Doctorem from the University of Virginia in 1979. At MIT he was a member of the Physics Honorary Society and wrote a thesis on plutonium recycling in commercial nuclear reactors. At the University of Virginia School of Law, he was a Senior Editor, and member of the Editorial Board, of the Virginia Journal of International Law.
Mr. Mitchell wrote Securities Regulation in Bankruptcy Reorganizations, 54 American Bankruptcy Law Journal 99 (1980), the leading article in the field at the time.
He also contributed to Radioactive Waste: Management and Regulation (Macmillan 1977), and is credited as contributing author to a US government-funded research project. The subject is still vexing the USA, with the recent termination of the Yucca Mountain Waste Repository Project in Nevada.
